Prof. Uriel Levy (HUJI): "Metasurfaces: From new materials and geometries to imaging and tunability"

We demonstrate several different material platformsfor the realization of metasurfaces, with emphasis on different mechanisms for theimplementation of tunable metasurfaces, ranging from refractive index change togeometrical control in real time. We also discussa particular type of metasurface, which is the metalens, including itscapabilities and limitations for imaging applications. We demonstrate an outdoor imaging system basedon metalens and show the strength of an hybrid approach, where metalenses and algorithmswork together to provide superior image quality.
