Capital equipment usage (on going)

Capital equipment grant (guidelines)

In order to encourage the use of Capital Equipment in Infrastructure centers, the Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute will grant a partial subsidy grant.

A PI is entitled to one grant per one academic year totaling the amount of 8000 ILS+VAT for all the

infrastructure centers detailed below.

The grant is given subject to equal matching funding by the faculty member at the amount of the requested grant by the faculty member.

The subsidy grant is subject to the following limitations:

-The matching funding must be a MOSAD grant or an ISF grant.

-Please note that the researcher may choose a source of matching funding only at the opening point of the subsidy grant. It is not possible to combine or exchange them throughout the period of the subsidy grant due to the financial separation between both financial companies.

-Funding from Technion funds OR Technion donations is not possible as matching funding to the subsidy RBNI  grant of the the Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute.

-NEVET grants or any other grant of The Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute cannot be used as matching funding to the RBNI subsidy grant.

-Infrastructure centers budgets cannot be used as matching funding to the RBNI subsidy grant.

-Reimbursement (‘Hechzerim’) grants cannot be used as matching funding for the RBNI subsidy grant.

-The grant is intended for use only in Capital equipment infrastructure centers related to Nanotechnology, open to all researchers in campus.

-The grant is valid until October 31st of the following academic year in which the grant was opened or until the balance has ended (whichever is the earliest).

- The support is up to 50% of the usage costs according to the rates agreed between the Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute and the Capital equipment infrastructure centers.

-The grant is intended to support a given Technion research (please detail the research MANLAM number). However- upon request, the allocation can be divided into several studies only if the counter funding is an ISF funding source. The RBNI will approve a subsidy grant only to a research that has been approved by the MANLAM office.

-In cases of Publications resulting from the funded research and the usage in various infrastructure centers-the researcher should state that they were done within the framework of the Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute-Technion.

- In cases of Publications resulting from the funded research and the usage in the PV lab- the researcher should state that they were done within the framework of the Russell Berrie Nanotechnology Institute-Technion and the Nancy and Stephen Grand Technion Energy Program

-The use for the benefit of research related to a commercial entity is prohibited.

A request for funding may be submitted continuously throughout the year.

The grant is possible for usage only in the following infrastructure centers:

*The Electron Microscopy Center (Materials Science & Engineering Faculty)

*MNFU - Micro and Nanofabrication Unit (The Zisapel Nanoelectronics Center - Electrical Engineering Faculty)

*Electron Microscopy Soft Matter (Chemical Engineering Faculty)
