Nano Main Field: The demand for new, better materials increasingly directs materials science towards a profound understanding of the relation between the nanoscopic and macroscopic worlds. We take advantage of internally cross-linked polymer architectures to tune the thermomechanical properties of materials composed of single-chain polymer nanoparticle (SCPNs) assemblies. We study the structure-function relationships of SCPN assemblies by controlling the SCPNs’ size, cross-link density, shape and rigidity during synthesis, tuning the thermomechanical properties of the final material.
Research Interests: polymer chemistry and physics, mechanochemistry, organometallic chemistry
