Nano Main Field:
Liquid flows in nano-scale geometries are characterized by the dominance of surface effects such as viscosity and capillary forces. We are interested in extending Blot's theory of poroelasticity to describe nano-scale liquid-solid interactions involving large numbers of nano-structures, such as the deformation of anchored arrays of carbon nanotubes due to wetting.
Research Interests
Theoretical research of fluid mechanics, specifically low-Reynolds and free-surface flows. These subjects include: Interaction of liquid flows with deformation and motion of solid micro- and nano-structures. Analysis and control of diffusion into porous surfaces. Analysis and optimization of complex micro-fluidic networks for fuel cells and lab-on-a-chip applications
